About this service
Sooner or later every car gets a web of scratches under the door handles from fingernails and keys. On dark paint it is visible from a distance and instantly makes the car look heavily used — it is the first thing a buyer notices at a viewing.
We work on all four recesses at once: if only one or two are done, the difference with the others catches the eye. The master washes and degreases the recesses and measures the clear coat — it is thin there, so the polishing runs at low speed. The handle and the edge of the recess are masked, the scratches are taken out with a small pad, and then come the polishing and finishing passes and a protective layer.
All four recesses take 1–1.5 hours, and the before and after is obvious straight away. To keep the scratches from coming back, the recess is best covered with clear film right after — that is the PPF for handle recesses service. Polishing always goes first: film laid over the scratches would simply seal them in.
The master comes to you with the polishing kit and everything else the job needs, so there is no need to drive the car anywhere.
