Rear bumper polishing

The rear bumper suffers less from the road and more from daily life. Suitcases and boxes catch it when you load the boot, shoes leave marks along the edge, and reversing into parking spaces adds scuffs. Exhaust marks build up above the tailpipe. In the end the bumper looks worn next to the rest of the body, even on a well-kept car.

We start with a wash and degrease, then measure the clear coat thickness and mask the neighbouring edges. A cutting pass takes out the defects, a polishing pass brings up the gloss and a finishing pass removes holograms. The area above the exhaust and the loading edge get extra attention. The last step is a protective layer of wax or sealant.

The aim is to match the shine of the bumper with the rear wings so the back of the car reads as one piece. Fine marks and scuffs come out or become much less visible; if a scratch is deep, the master assesses it on site and tells you what to expect. The work takes 1–1.5 hours.

Once polished, the loading edge can be covered with clear film straight away — that is a separate service, PPF for the rear bumper loading edge. The master comes wherever the car is parked and brings everything along, from the polisher to light and power.
