Glass polishing

Glass gets scratched by wipers dragging sand, by scrapers and, most often, by a knife used to take off an old sticker or parking permit. In daylight such a scratch flares in the low sun; at night it catches oncoming headlights and gets in the way of seeing the road. Water spots that the sun has practically baked onto the glass add to it.

First the master inspects the glass and marks the defects with a marker from the inside. Then he checks the depth: a deep chip cannot be polished, and if the glass needs replacing we will tell you honestly. The bodywork and the seals around the glass are fully masked, and the polishing is done with cerium oxide under constant water cooling.

During the work the glass is checked against the light; afterwards it is rinsed and degreased. At the end the master looks through the glass at a straight line to make sure there is no distortion and no lens effect. Depending on how deep the defects are, the job takes from 1.5 to 3 hours.

After polishing the glass can be sealed with ceramic glass protection, available as an extra. The master comes with his own equipment and water for cooling, so the glass is polished right in your driveway or car park.
