About this service
The front door is touched more than any other panel. Rings, keys, fingernails and bag straps leave a web of fine scratches on it, and on a dark car that web makes black paint look cloudy. It is also the panel people see when the car is parked side-on and when you step out of it.
The master washes the panel, decontaminates and degreases it, then measures the clear coat thickness. Joints, the handle, mouldings and the mirror are masked so the polisher never touches them. Three passes follow: cutting over the defects, polishing to gloss and a finishing pass with no holograms. A protective layer goes on top.
One door takes 45–60 minutes. On a black car, keep in mind that a single polished panel can differ in gloss from its neighbours, so dark paint is better done as a whole — the master will advise on site.
